Does OnlyOffice work in the browser?
Yes. It's a web-based office suite. Open a document in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, or any modern browser. Mobile apps are also available.
Can I open .docx files from Nextcloud in OnlyOffice?
Yes — that's the killer feature. Open a file in Nextcloud Files, click Edit, it opens in OnlyOffice in a new tab. Save returns to Nextcloud. Native, no upload-download.
How many concurrent editors can one document support?
Tested up to 200 concurrent editors per document with the warp-grade storage we run. Typical use is 5-20.
Is OnlyOffice a Google Docs replacement?
For most workflows, yes. Word, Excel, PowerPoint open, edit, and save natively. Some advanced Google Docs features (Smart Chips, certain Add-ons) are not available.
What about the mobile apps?
OnlyOffice has free iOS and Android apps that connect to your self-hosted server. Configure once, edit offline, sync when back online.
